What is Paws-Ability?
Paws-Ability raises funds to assist local rescue groups and support our programs to improve animal welfare in Brunswick and New Hanover Counties in NC. Established in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are an all-volunteer organization. We are proud of the fact that we pay no salaries. Over 90% of the monies raised goes directly to the animals.
Current programs are:
We partner with local animal rescue groups and help fund the extraordinary medical costs of their animals so they can be adopted to a fur-ever home.
Paws-Ability also partnered with the Hope Harbor Domestic Violence Shelter to build a climate-controlled kennel for the pets of the shelter’s guests. If needed, the pets are brought up-to-date on vaccines and spayed or neutered.
Prior to COVID, Paws-Ability funded and taught a pet education program for Brunswick County Elementary Schools.
Throughout the year we fund-raise by selling merchandise at local markets and festivals, and our major events such as our Golf Tournament, BandFest, and others!
