How we've spent our money
The funds donated by Paws-Ability since we began our efforts are:

2009 - Over $21,000
2010 - Over $50,000

One day at a time, we are making a difference in the lives of so many animals.
These donations have provided:
Much needed funds for our local rescue groups’ equipment needs;
Funds for the medical care of animals in these rescue shelters;
Funds for training dogs in these shelters to help make them more adoptable;
Funds for animals affected by our local domestic violence pet protection program; and funds to support a new program to teach responsible pet ownership to our children.
To further personalize how our members have made life much better for so many animals, here are some specifics concerning how 2010 funds were spent:
14 Kurunda beds were donated to SOAR kennels. These beds keep the animals off the cold cement floor in winter time.
Gravel for Paw’s Place was needed in order to meet North Carolina requirements for rescue facilities.
Three months of training was provided to SOAR by Amy Van Dyne. Dogs who receive this training are much more likely to be adopted.
Five large and five small dog houses were provided for Paw’s Place.
Oliver is a blind Pug who was surrendered to foster care after a large dog attacked him. He was subsequently adopted.
Katie, a Shih Tzu, had severe skin issues. She was treated and adopted. Her new mother says ―Thank you for helping Katie.
G.I. Jane had been shot and abandoned and required surgery. She lived for several months at Capeside Animal Hospital. Jane died recently, but was loved and cared for until that time.
Emma was abandoned after being strangled. She was treated for heartworms and severe anemia with Furever Friends and subsequently adopted.
Clementine required surgery while she was with Furever Friends. She has since been adopted.
Bernie required heartworms treatment and now has a forever home.
Tucker’s owner surrendered him. We funded needed dental surgery. He has been adopted. Rusty, a 12 year old dog, was surrendered to Animal Control after his senior owner died. He received much needed dental treatment and treatment for skin problem and has been adopted.
Molly, a small Shih Tzu, was owner-surrendered with mange, an eye infection, ear infection and severe skin issues. She was treated and subsequently adopted.
Lexi, a puppy mill survivor, had a dislocated shoulder and suffered from extreme neglect in the puppy mill. She had two surgeries. She has been adopted and is living the good life now.
Pete was a puppy found at Animal Control with distemper and parvo. He was humanely euthanized.
Fred and Wilma were found at the Southport dump, emaciated and very frightened. Fred had a large tumor removed from his leg. Wilma has been adopted and Fred is still available through Furever Friends.
Target sustained three gunshot wounds. We paid for his surgery and he has been adopted through Furever Friends.
Lady was treated for severe ear infections and has been adopted through Furever Friends.
Levi required surgical repair. He was subsequently adopted through Furever Friends.
Cooper was chained and starving. Following treatment, he was adopted through Furever Friends.
Olive was abandoned and starving. She received treatment, recuperated and was adopted through Furever Friends.
Molly is a hound who had been abandoned and was near starvation. She has been treated and adopted through SOAR.
Ellie Mae required surgery for a severely broken leg. She has been adopted through Adopt an Angel and is living the good life.
Mamma Z and Tiger were two cats needing eye surgery. They are currently available for adoption.
Petey, abandoned at Paw’s Place, was very ill. He is currently available for adoption.
Charlie was also abandoned at Paw’s Place, where he is now available for adoption.
Zoe, adopted from Paw’s Place, was returned with medical needs. She is currently available for adoption again.
Bella, abandoned at Paw’s Place, is currently available for adoption
Dottie, abandoned at Paw’s Place, is now available for adoption.
Mr. Tiger was a very sick cat abandoned at Paw’s Place. He has been treated and is currently in foster care.
Bella, a young shepherd mix, was abandoned in Calabash. She is available for adoption with Furever Friends.
Fluffy and five kittens were abandoned and starving. All have been spayed or neutered and are available for adoption from Cat Tails.
